Not taking proper healthy food but taking too much drugs can dry your body and it affects your bowel movement. Most of the people are affected by constipation due to poor diet and sedentary life style. Eating junk food and avoiding fruits, fresh vegetables, and grains, taking alcohol and caffeine are also the causes of constipation.

When people become old, functions of their body also starts changing and it is commonly found in the old age. A lot number of old people suffer from constipation because of their slow metabolic rate and digestive process, it is one of the causes of constipation.

Overuse of Laxatives

Many people take different laxatives to make their regular and proper bowel movements. These laxatives made them addicted and after a certain period of time they do nothing without taking it for their regular bowel movements. These laxatives are sometimes known as habit forming materials, the maximum you use the higher you will need to have the same outcome and day by day you become addicted of it, and your body will then not be able to function without it, so overuse of laxatives one of the causes of constipation.
